Cough Medicine
More advice needed....
Does anyone have any good children's cough medicine that they use? Drew is coughing while sleeping and I hate it when he throws up due to coughing too hard! We have used almost every kind and are now on something called Dyselm (12 cough). The dr. is trying some Singular with Drew since we have been in every three wks with the same thing - wheezing rattling lungs/cold. He is a pro at the breathing treatments and the steriods have worked well with opening up his lungs, but the effects are going to wear off if we have to continue the use.

OK, I know this seems cooky, but I got an e-mail with coughing as the title. The person swears that this works 100% of the time. They suggest liberally applying Vicks Vaporub on the bottoms of your feet and put socks over while you sleep. They say that within 5 minutes the coughing will stop. I will try to forward the e-mail to you if I still have it.

hilarious... my dad sent me the same email that sarah referenced. i thought it was hokey, but worth a try. trip has coughed his head off like that a lot & after bouts of nebulizing over the past couple of years, he was diagnosed with seasonal allergies a few weeks ago. he was on a steroid for 5 days w/the one a day chewable singulair & now is just on the singulair. i think it is helping some. he doesn't cough nearly as much, but we are still using the neb off & on if he coughs more than usual.
He has been "diagnosed" with cold induced asthma. I think the effects of the steriods are wearing off since this time it didn't work as well.
